How to Use Instagram to Promote Your Events

Instagram enjoys an important place in social media. This is the place where you can share your selfies, special moments, and any other random photos that you feel like showing to the world. Just like for any other purpose, you can use Instagram to promote events as well. In this article, I will discuss how to use Instagram to promote your event.

Share the Location of the Event:

Start provoking interest in your potential audience of the event by sharing the pictures of your venue. Show them what they can expect; the exterior of the venue, and how are you going to decorate its interior.

If you haven’t decided the venue yet, or are still confused, you can decide by letting your followers vote for their favorite venue. Shortlist few venues that you think are suitable for your event, and upload their photos to Instagram. Ask your followers to vote for their favorite, and then you can decide accordingly. You can upload short videos of the venue as well.

2. Make use of Luster:

Luster is a wall-mounted photo booth that anyone can get for rent. When your followers take a selfie or a photo and upload it on Instagram with the hashtag of your event, Luster prints a copy of that photo, which your followers can keep with them as a momento.

Even though we are living in a digital age, people still like the idea of a physical copy of the photo. You can mount these photo booths at your venue, and people will walk out of your event with a present that they will love forever.

This technique is used by many companies successfully. One of the examples is Grey Goose Vodka. They have used this technique to make its hashtag #CherryNoir famous and promote its new flavor. If you want some ideas for hashtags for your event, click here.

3. Keep Posting During Event:

There will be many people who won’t be able to attend your event. Don’t let them feel left out. Keep up the momentum and interest on Instagram during your event about what’s going on and maybe even promote a future event at the same time. Most people use Twitter for this reason but asyou know, photos speak better than words.

Instead of posting random images, use every image to portray how good your event is going. Some important images that you can upload on Instagram could be:

· Speaker walking to the stage

· Different groups of guests

· Tradeshow

· Long registration line

Don’t forget to add a short description of every photo, and use relevant tags.

To make any event successful, you need to use social media in one form or another. These platforms enable you to engage your audience long term. Instagram is a highly effective channel to tell your story in a completely different but more interesting and engaging way. Don’t forget the live feed too!
