Here are the top New Year activities in Denver.

1. Art Shows And Exhibits

Rembrandt as a painter

Denver’s art scene is so abundant it is visited by tourists from around the world to take photos with the city’s finest wall art, architecture and art communities that present their crafts. The community won’t be forgotten this New Year. Several art inspired shows are lined up before the world welcomes 2019.

Denver Art Museum has an ongoing exhibit “Stampede: Animals In Art” that features animals as subjects of the pieces. It presents the roles they play in human lives through more than 300 pieces -- paintings, sculptures and mixed art. From these subjects, let’s get in Denver’s history through a 3,700-square-foot exhibit called “Zoom In: The Centennial State In 100 Objects.” The exhibit will showcase work that has shaped the history and traditions of Colorado. Another gallery at Denver Art Museum will feature painter Rembrandt’s contribution to art history.

2. Bar Crawls

Let’s make it a memorable night

For those who want to be a bit more active, loud, wild and free, cheers to you since Social Scene is going to host bar crawls across various cities this New Year. One of the participating cities is Denver. The 2019 Denver New Year’s Bar Crawl will bring together the best bars across town for an experience that will be perfect to cap off 2018. Portion of proceeds from the event benefits local charities.

3. Fashion Events

From Paris to the world

The last weeks of December may find you attending glamorous fashion shows in Denver, just in time before the New Year begins. One of these is a show that will start in November and end in March 2019. It is called “Dior: From Paris to the World” and will survey 70 years of the House of Dior's enduring legacy and influence on the world. To give you an overview, the event is going to showcase a selection of 150 couture dresses, as well as accessories, costume jewelry, photographs, drawings, runway videos, and other archival material, each playing a part in the entire history of the renowned fashion house. The event is at the Denver Art Museum.

4. Fireworks Displays

The sweetest thing to New Year

Fireworks are traditionally said to be practiced all over the world during New Year’s Eve to ward off bad luck. On December 31st in Denver just as the clock strikes midnight to January 21st, the sky will be lit up with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks display downtown. There will be two different fireworks shows to be presented, one at midnight and the other a little bit earlier at 9pm . Revelers are advised to position themselves at 16th Street Mall as they listen to beats played by the city’s most talented DJs.

5. New Year’s Eve Parties

The New Year wouldn’t be complete without parties and some booze. After all, gathering together amidst loud music and ethereal fireworks hasalways been the highlight of every New Year’s Eve gathering. Denver is preparing some parties you can try for the experience and of course for the memories.

For literature lovers out there, the NYE Great Gatsby 16th White Rose Gala is where you’d want to be. It’s happening at the opulent venue, that is the Ellie Caulkins Opera House which will gather participants bringing down the house partying like how the Roaring 20s did it, filled with glitz and glamour. You can also head over to McNichols Civic Center Building for a New Year’s bash with DJs, dance parties, art installations and open bars. Or, indulge in a lowdown of the year’s hottest beats at Grand Hyatt Denver for a party that includes an open bar, dinner buffet, and champagne toasts.
