The list of the best liquor brands in Indianapolis begins with Blackberry Eau-de-Vie, processed and bottled by Spirits Of French Lick, one of the top distilleries of craft spirits in Indiana. The term “eau de vie” is French for “spirits” and literally translated as “water of life.” Blackberry Eau-de-Vie is perfect for the summer as it is very refreshing. It is distilled using copper pots to extract the best character of its fruity flavors.
We continue on with Breakfast Of Degenerates, one of the whiskeys made by Indiana Whiskey Company. The refreshing beverage is perfect for any occasion, whether a morning booze or a late-night session with friends. It is bottled at 35% ABV and 70 proof. The Indiana Whiskey Company uses direct heating, instead of water jackets, and it is the same process done by the old Irish and Scottish distillers.
Joining the pack is Hoosier Hooch Corn Whiskey Moonshine, a craft spirit made by Bear Wallow Distillery. This spirit is made with 100 percent Indiana corn, and takes inspiration from the moonshine well-loved by Indiana locals before the Prohibition Era. The distillery behind this moonshine is one of the first craft distilleries around the state. Now also open in Brown County, the craft spirits distillery uses locally-grown ingredients to make the beverages in a traditional copper pot still.

Demand is higher for these types of liquor brands and craft spirits, particularly Indiana Whiskey Company’s, Hoosier Sweet Heat, in the colder seasons because of the way it tastes, but it is still a good beverage for almost any occasion. Bottled at 35% ABV just like its counterparts in the collection, Hoosier Sweet Heat is also easy on ice.
A spirit tasting like french toast? It must be fantastic. Windy Ridge Distillery has a collection of spirits, mostly whiskeys, that takes inspiration from food and guilty pleasures. Their French Toast brand is made using corn as the base, and adding maple syrup aged in cinnamon and nutmeg.
Everyone wants to get a taste of something exotic. Cardinal Spirits has made a blend known as Lake House Spiced Rum, a true epitome of nature’s goodness. It is distilled in small batches using ingredients such as cardamom, orange peel, and vanilla. The mixture of varied tastes is present, and it is also sweet with a tinge of spice that craft spirits enthusiasts will love.
Lima Charlie Limoncello by Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery is one of their spirits that showcase a military alphabet-inspired name, along with their other products. This is a classic Italian spirit for those looking for smoothness in their beverage. It is macerated with a high proof neutral spirit and makes use of lemon peel. Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery calls it “the Ferrari of the liquor world,” coming in with a strong and slightly bitter tasting note.
Classic is what Old Coe is all about. This wonderful beverage made by Edwin Coe Spirit may be a favorite among Indiana locals, but the ingredients are authentically Cajun. The Southern culture shares the gift of their very own spirits making it through distilling grain and cane to produce a unique taste. It is enjoyed by several drinkers from other states as well.

Peach Brandy is produced by Huber’s Starlight Distillery, also one of the top craft distilleries in Indianapolis. It uses the conventional methods of distillation using homegrown peaches as main ingredients. The brandy is matured in toasted oak-made casks for about two years before it is bottled. The distillery is located in Starlight, Indiana and takes pride in producing the same brandies that were made from the early 19th century.
10. The Barreled Reporter - 12.05 Distillery
12.05 Distillery’s, The Barreled Reporter is unique for being the only whiskey made from a sour beer. The distillery ages the whiskey in hand-me-down bourbon barrels to give the beverage its unique flavor. The output is a spirit with hints of (get ready!) fruits, chocolates and coffee. With the perfect choice of ingredients, no one will doubt it is considered as one of the best craft spirits brands in the entire world.
