A great-tasting tequila today may be forgotten tomorrow. In the world of tequilas, popular brands come and go, replaced by new and upcoming ones. They change as fast as the seasons you wouldn’t even know it. The only thing that remain constant is the shot glass -- or the lime that goes with the tequila.

Each year, reviewers all across the globe fancy a different variety of the drink. Is your favorite on the list? Uno, dos, tres -- Estas listos? Here are 10 of the trendiest tequilas in the market right now.

Top 10 Tequila Brands

 1. Reposado By Exotico Tequila

Exotico Tequila’s version of Reposado is a blend of dry fruits, spices and vanilla with hints of caramel and cinnamon. This mellow 100 percent agave-made tequila is also fragrant with the same ingredients and finished with oak and wood. It has been awarded multiple times in the 2017 Berlin International Spirits Competition as Reposado of the Year, and won the Gold medal in the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, among with many other accolades.

2. Maestro Dobel’s Diamante

The tequila variety has earned its name as the “world’s first clear multi-aged tequila.” The most distinct characteristic is perhaps on the way it has been aged in the finest oak barrels in Europe, double filtered to perfect to produce crystal clear liquid as innocent as water but as strong as the best agave drinks around. It has a blend of Reposado, Anejo, and Extra Anejo. Clearly a “rule breaker,” according to Maesto Dobel

3. El Mayor’s Blanco Tequila

Coming in at the third spot is El Mayor’s version of Blanco. El Mayor is probably one of the best makers of this tequila variety in history. From the cultivation of agave, fermentation, distillation until the bottling process, the brand is so proud of being the product of several generations of tradition. It says, “Our process doesn’t accommodate a budget, or lighten the load on our backs. It’s a painstaking labor of love, and the only means to crafting the perfect tequila.”

4. Roca Patron

Roca Patron is a collection of three various tequilas crafted by a brand named Patron Tequila. True to its name, it is passionately made using the “tahona” process to create a complex and intricate flavor that soothes all tastes. Flavors such as black pepper, ginger, caramel and raisins are taking you to the shores of Mexico, making your experience simply perfect.

5. Anejo By Suerte Tequila

Not all anejos are created equal, and in the case of this fine blend, it is more than just serendipity. This award-winning anejo comes from hand-picked agave, slowly roasted for more than 50 hours or more than two days in a traditional brick oven. It recently earned a Platinum medal at the Spirits International Prestige

6. Tequila Avion

Tequila Avion comes from agave produced in the highest elevations of Jalisco, Mexico. The environment has nurtured its natural flavors before they go through a slow filtration process to create the smooth taste. The brand behind Avion, Pernod-Ricard also offers wines and whiskeys. Global business development director Conor McQuaid describes the brand as “consumer centric.”

 7. Blanco By Exotico Tequila

The countdown continues with another great blend by Exotico. Its Blanco is laden with a crisp and herbal aroma drizzled with balanced tastes from pepper and other spices. It provides a warm finish followed by the balance of spices.

8. Maracame Plata

Maracame Plata is a journey through Western tropics by the palate. This smooth blanco has flavors of grilled pineapple, honeyed sweet potatoes and prickly pear custard oozing with accents of citrus, herbs, and minerals. Handcrafted in a laborious process, Maracame Plate is a premium choice amongst liquor reviewers.
