Top 10 Best Tequila Drinks

Everyone is the same in the presence of tequila. You can be tall or short, a partygoer or a homebody, an avid drinker or a social drinker—everyone has epic tequila drinking reactions! And that’s the fun of it!

When tequila drinks are on the menu, it means you’ll have the best night of your life. It’s a shot that takes no jokes and will definitely give you something insane to recall after a night out.

A liquor not quite like the others! It’s sure to provide you and your friends with a fun encounter to look back on for a long long time. How fun was it witnessing your friends have their first shots of tequila, right?

This drink can even win wars. In Mexico’s War of Independence, tequila consumption increased and developed a connection with Mexico’s national identity. If you could ask people from that time if they’d choose to drink tequila or something else, they’d go for the former, no questions asked.

Tequila on its own is a beautiful monster, but that doesn’t mean it can’t go well with mixes. It has a unique way of giving cocktails a kick, making them refreshing and well-respected.

Preparation time: 3 minutes

Serving: 1

2 slices of nectarine

2 cherries

1 tbsp. of Agave Nectar

3 oz. of Reposado Tequila

2 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Garnish: Cherry or Nectarine slice

Take an old-fashioned glass and add the agave nectar, cherries, and nectarine slice. Use a muddler to mash and mix the cocktail ingredients. (The muddler is an important bar tool also used in making cocktails such as the caipirinha and mojito). Fill the glass with ice, then pour in the tequila and Angostura bitters. Stir, add the garnish and serve.

The Reposado Old-Fashioned is a classic cocktail and a favorite among many who prefer their drinks classic and clean. The best way to enjoy this drink is to sip it slowly, in order to indulge in each and every flavor it offers. You can choose to add larger ice cubes for slower dilution or keep the glass chilled longer.

1 oz. of Pomegranate Juice

2 oz. of Club Soda

Pour in the pomegranate juice first so it settles at the bottom of the glass. Fill the glass with ice and slowly add the club soda. Follow with pouring in the tequila and pineapple juice. Garnish and serve.

The Sayulita Sunrise is your classic party cocktail, but a lot more healthy. This drink is an all-natural fruit-infused Tequila cocktail that’s fresh and clean to drink. The recipe comes from 21 Seeds, which offers many other cocktail selections all under 150 calories.

Preparation time: 3 minutes

Serving: 1

2 oz. of Reposado Tequila

1 oz. of Cognac

1 oz. of Orange Liqueur

½ oz. of Lime Juice

1 tbsp. of Agave Nectar

Garnish: Sugar for the rim and Lemon or Lime wedge

Using the sugar, rim the cocktail glass, then wipe the lemon or lime wedge around the rim. Use a shallow dish to roll the glass in superfine or granulated sugar. Then, fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the reposado tequila, cognac, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar. Shake well and strain into the cocktail glass you prepared earlier. Garnish with the lemon or lime wedge.

Dulce de Tequila is a good choice as a dessert drink. It’s very tasty and sweet because of the orange liqueur and agave nectar. With the lime in tow, this creates a wonderful balance within the drink. It is also one of the few drinks that use tequila and cognac together. We recommend using Tezón Reposado for the tequila, Martell for the cognac, and Cointreau as your orange liqueur.
