5. Icehouse

Icehouse gets its name from Cedar Fuel and Ice, the establishment that once occupied the restaurant’s location. Around 75,000 tons of ice were once harvested annually, and you can see the original wood ceiling and brick walls when you visit.

They have an impressive collection of whiskey at the bar for you to enjoy while you eat good food, drink well, and enjoy great music. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with its original industrial aesthetic.

Check it out from Monday to Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM and Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM for dinner service. They also serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Volstead House Whiskey Bar and Speakeasy gets its name from the National Prohibition Act of 1920, aka the 18th Amendment. This legislation, also known as the Volstead Act, was authored by Andrew Volstead and enforced Prohibition, later inspiring the present name of the bar.

So what can guests expect from Volstead? The bar serves cocktail classics dating from the 1800s to the early 1900s. Volstead is dedicated to starting a movement, going back to basics and bringing the drinking spirit of the past back to life.
