Before founding the distillery, Ryan embraced the mountain lifestyle and operated a successful restaurant. The 10th Mountain Rye is made up of rye and barley and aged in charred oak barrels. It won double gold in the 2017 Las Vegas Global Spirits Competition and gold at the North American Whiskey and Bourbon Competition, as well as silver at the Denver International Spirits Festival. Meanwhile, it acquired the bronze medal at the 2018 Great American International Spirits Competition for the American Rye Whiskey category.
